Kashiwa-mochi



Kashiwa-mochi ( kashiwa: Oak leaf, mochi: rice cake )
It is a traditional Japanese sweets eaten on Japanese Children's Day which is May 5th.
Japanese Children's Day is also celebrated as Japanese Boys' Festival.
It's traditionally the day to pray for the health and happiness of boys in Japan.
It is filled with sweetened azuki beans and wrapped with oak leaf.
